The ART of Skateboarding will be presenting an evening of spectacular art, style, skateboarding, cocktails and infinite fun benefiting Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) & The Dallas Arts Community on Saturday, November 7th, 2009. The ART of Skateboarding would like to thank Jack Matthews & Southside on Lamar for kindly donating the space for this wonderful art & community benefit.

The evening begins at 7:00 p.m. with Cocktails & Appetizers at South Side on Lamar. Throughout the evening guests (1,000) will bid on and purchase their favorite artist's skateboard & other auction items. South Side on Lamar will have on display 200 skateboards designed by either a celebrity artist, an art student, a TSRHC patient, a clothing designer, a graphic designer, or a local artist. During the evening The ART of Skateboarding will present their story including the team video and a few words from Honorary Chairman Al Coker and Professional Skateboarder and former TSRHC patient/Honorary Chairman, Jon Comer.

Jon Comer is the first professional amputee skateboarder. A former TSRHC patient for more than 10 years, Jon wears a Prosthetic Limb. He is featured in the award-winning documentary "Never Been Done". Jon earned the respect of skateboarding legends like Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, and Mike Vallely who admire Jon's success and determination. Jon pushes physical boundaries to pursue his life-long dream to achieve things that have never been done in the sport of skateboarding. His modest personality and sense of humor help inspire those with similar physical challenges. Whether a skateboarding fan or not, his life is a truly inspirational story to people of all ages and of all walks of life. Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas has worked closely with Jon & his family since he was a child.

This fundraising event will benefit Texas Scottish Rite Hospital. The proceeds will help TSRHC to continue to provide the highest quality medical care to thousands of Texas children. TSRHC treats Texas children, from birth to age 18, with orthopedic conditions, such as scoliosis, clubfoot, hand disorders, hip disorders, limb-length differences, as well as certain related neurological disorders and learning disorders at no charge to patient families.

Tickets are $25.00 each in advance paid online. Tickets will be $30.00 each at the door.
Underwriting packages will be available from $2,500-$5,000.
